Sign in to disble this ad
I have a quick question about a bridge i found on the 'bay... Its a badass II that i want to use on an MIM jazz... only one problem... he says it was grooved for a lefty bass and i need it for a righty.

what does this "grooving" mean? is it not reverseable like he says it is so i cant use it?

please help.

thank you

I don't have any direct experience with the Badass II, but I have been looking for one, and this is how I understand it:

It comes new like this - without grooves for the strings.
You have to file them yourself.

So if it is grooved for a left hand bass, the grooves will be "mirrored" if you put it on a right hand bass, i.e. the large E-string groove will be in the G-string position and so on. So you'll have too large grooves for the D- and especially the G-string. The two others can be filed to fit the A and E.

The saddles can't be swapped around, since the E-A saddles are different from the D-G saddles. One solution may be to drill new holes in the bridge for the adjustment screws, there seems to be room for that.

Send a message via AIM to bluetiejeeper
or call leo quan and have them send you new ones. Thier bases out of San fran. when I got mine one of the holes wasnt drilled all the ay through so when I wentto adjust my action the little allen screw snaped in half inside the saddle. well I had a new one at my door the next day free of charge. their phone number is on the back of the package I believe.
