badass on an sx despite two extra screws?

Sign in to disble this ad
hi, i just got my new SX in the mail, and i want to put my badass bridge on it. however, the stock sx bridge has, in addition to the standard 5 screws, two on the neck side of the bridge. my gut tells me that i can ignore those two, but my brain suggested i run it by you nice folks before doing something i'll regret. so, what's the verdict - is it safe to put the badass on there using just the five back screws?

thanks!

I would think that would be fine. It seems like those top screws are jsut to hold down the front end of the bridge (which would be unnecessary when the bass is strung anyway). IMO, you're fine =)

new problem:
the holes on the badass aren't spaced the same as the tin bridge, which means the holes on the bass aren't lining up.
is it possible to redrill, or should i call it a day?

Depends on what kind of tools you have and how much work you want to put in, and how "bad" the stock bridge is.

i mean the bridge doesn't suck or anything, so i suppose it's not a huge deal, but i've heard people in the forum complain about the longevity of the stock bridge.

oh well, thanks anyway guys!
