Hey Everybody,
I'm loving the SX Fretless 5 that I picked up, but the sustain could be better - especially on the Low B. My Badass V bridge just came in the mail today, and the holes in the bridge don't match up with those on the SX.
Can somebody tell me the best way to get this thing up and running? How do I install the Badass V? New Holes? Where do I want to screw in the bridge?
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Chris

Also, I think the essex threads discuss which version of the Badass works without drilling new holes. You may want to try the search function...
Good Luck! Russ |

Hope this helps! Russ

I have the fretless 5 as well and if all the holes did not line up I would probably put the old bridge back on and mark on the bass where the saddle would be so I had the same length between the nut and the bridge saddles.
Then, making sure you have enough room for adjusting the saddle positions, see if you have any holes lining up. If not...then I would drill new holes and mount it.
Like I said, I've never done this before but it seems really simple to do. I think your main focus here is to make sure when the bridge is installed that you have plenty of room to adjust saddle position back and forth so you can reintonate the bass when your done. That would determine the placement of the bridge itself.
Anyone else can chime in.....cause I'm no professional, but I do my own work and this sounds easy.
