When I went out to purchase a balanced output cable to go from my head to a mixer, I found out that there are two kinds possible - mic cables, and loudspeaker xlr cables. Is there any difference in the two? Is the loudspeaker cable better for bass frequencies? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
They both have the same pins, btw.

I am not sure dude, umm when we bought the singer a new mic we asked about mic cables because we had so many in our gig bag. the guy said there was a international standard whereby Pin 2 was hot.

As for loudspeaker cables it maybe different. We just use mic cable for all our setting up of foldbacks, mics etc. The owner of the rehearsal room freaked, but thats because he does his own dodgy wiring. yep he's a "stickie tape holderer-together" electronics goof.

Merls.
