Basic Bridge help?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello all, I'm a long time reader, first time poster. Anyway, I live in a kind of small town and there aren't really any music shops here. So I was really happy when my friend told me he was selling his Alvarez 6 stringer as I'd been wanting something new. To make a long story short the bass's bridge was completely rusted (not sure from what ) so I ordered a new one from allparts.com. It's pretty much the exact same bridge as my currest one but it's not rusty and it's black. My question to anyone who has time is: Are there any things that I should know about before trying to slap this puppy on? There is no place where I can go to have a professional do it and I've never really attempted this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

It's very straight forward if the bridges are identical. just remove the old one and replace with the new, using the same screw holes.

You'll need to set the string heigth and the intonation once its installed.

Good luck and give a shout if you get stuck.
