Bass Bridges Gone Up?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm just curious as to how, or why this has happened. When I was googling some information as to what bridge I should use to replace my stock MIM Jazz, I was directed to a bunch of 5+ years posts saying Get a Gotoh 201 or Badass 2.

The most expensive I saw the Gotoh mentioned at in these old forums was 25$ and the Badass 2 was 60$. Now they've basically doubled in price.

Why is this? Basses and amps haven't gone up in price, if anything they've gone down.

Anyways I grabbed a Gotoh from Warmoth for 48 $ after shipping, by far the cheapest I could find on the net.

Yeah in the last decade raw materials have in fact shot up in price, plus Japan has been in an even worse recession than we have in the US, so the value of our money versus theirs is all shot to ****.
