Bass Building Project

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys, MY first post, Looking for some advice, I got some mahogony wood for the body a bass guitar. I am looking for a set of good instructions and a list of all the parts such as Pickups, Bridge, Electronics ETC, Also what specific brand/model you reccomend.

I would like to keep the price down as low as possible but still maintaing a decent quality of hardwear. :-). We are in Mainland UK. :-).

Thanks Guys!...

I would recommend Martin Koch's guitar/bass building book. I forget the exact title, but if you Google his name along with "guitar building" you should find what you need.

There are also a few other good guitar/bass building books which are easy to find on a Borders.com website and the like. Get a couple of these books, compare their methods and then decide how you want to build your project. Those books should have most (if not all) the info you need with regard to a list of hardware & electronics.

I would recommend Hipshot hardware and EMG pickups. Models of each are up to you, but I wouldn't go lower than the Hipshot "A-Style" bridge.
