Bass buzzes only when active not passive
 

My bass only buzzes when im going active and through my preamp, but is silent when I hit the passive switch. Is this more likely a shielding issue or some sort of ground possibly soldered wrong on the preamp?

Could be wire issue but some Active Preamps buzz no matter what you do.Shielding it properly will help.
