Bass Flips

I'm thinking of trying to incorporate some bass flippage into my stage presence. I haven't seen anything posted on this since i started lurking here so hopefully this isn't one of those beat to death topics.

I guess i'm looking for tips on not only how to perform this correctly but also how best to set your bass up for doing this. What strap locks are best etc. Does it work with pretty much any style strap or are some better?

Also which way is easier? headstock or body first?

Also doesn't the cord get in the way?

ive done it.
bought a decent set up strap locks, did it with a bass i didnt mind dinging up
and convinced myself "just f***ing do it".
took some practice in an open area, but i got it down both ways.
straps will leave a nasty burn mark on your neck though, it hurts and looks horrible.

Such thing's aren't my style... If I were in your shoes though, I would: 1. find cheap bass ($40.00 POS with nothing in it sort of deal) 2. Lock down the strap 3. Practice till I have it pat 4. put strap locks on the bass I'm gigging with 5. look before I swing 6. Rock on

these are some i "studied". think of it as a complete track, and you have to follow it through. otherwise the headstock hits the floor, or the body smacks you in the back of the head. been there. done that.

tips:
think circle, you have to complete it.
correct angle of your throw.
length of strap.
dont be a pussy.

Hi.

There's been quite a few threads about the 'toss, mostly hilarious stuff.

The most important thing is to have a wireless, otherwise the cord may pinch some nerves around Your neck, dropping you down like a brick. I wasn't there, but the foldback engineer who was, said that it was preettty funny .

Regards
Sam

If you're playing the last chord to a song with a big rock ending you could just unplug.
