Bass Guitar Volume Knobs

Does anyone know if the knobs on guitars are interchangeable? I have 2 Hofner bass guitars I was wanting to change the knobs on, but I don't know if if I have to get a certain kind.

yeah most of the time they are. I have some knobs from a gibson guitar on my ibanez bass

look carefully at the knobs. if they have a set screw on the side, you have to loosen that to get the knob off. if they don't, the knob just pulls off.

the set screw kind are often made for slightly larger posts, and will fit on anything.

the push-on kind need to be the right size.
