Bass Rattle

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi ive read already people who have asked this question but i dont get it.
My bass is in C tuning, and well the rattle is unbearable compared 2 E tuning. Ive only just bought my fender american jazz, and im going to adjust it myself, i just dont want to bust a £700 bass!!!
All i wanna know is, i mean do i turn the lil nut left or right.... and how far, dont ask me about measurements and stuff, i havent got a clue, i just play bass! All i wanna do is just turn it a bit so the rattles completely gone.
Can any1 just explain very simply how to do it.
It would be very much appreciated, i have a band audition, and figured id look like a tit if the bass kept rattling!!
Thanks!!
Anthony

quickly take it to a store with a repairman. he might charge ya 15 bucks for a quick set up, but at least the job will me done by someone thats knows what they are doing.

are yuo using stock strings? tuning down to a C would make a fair percentage of basses cack it anyway, unless you are perhaps using heavier strings...
