bass rattling.

Well, I bought my bass in February, and like 2 weeks into having it, it starts making a rattling noise while playing, sometimes its worse then others, maybe its because of the weather, but im not sure since when i put my thumb on the fret tuning board, like on the back and push, it doesnt bend it visibly but i guess enough to make the rattling non-existant. and when i push on the front side and play, it makes it even worse. how do i fix this, people say its the truss rod but idk, since that bends the whole fretboard not just the fret tuning part. idk i didnt hit it against anything just over 1 night it did this, i looked up the reviews, it says its very sensitive to weather, but i mean its been awhile, but i guess the weather has been weird lately..i dont know!

i think so, im not sure if thats what is making the noise, but i guess the "hand" or whatever its called at the top is bend just alittle to much that i guess on the fretboard somehow its rattling against the fretboards? idk.

You're recommending feeler gauges, eh? Any idea where a person could get some of those?

(Sorry, folks - it's a bit of a private joke...)

I think it is becasue the first fret is touching the strings, so its making a weird noise, i think maybe adjusting the truss rod will help, but i dont know how to do all that stuff, ill try to get a friend to do it.

i had some rattling on my warwick a while back, and after much confusion i found out it was the tuning machines. they were rattling in their slots just enough to affect the sound of the instrument. try playing, and then grabbing or pressing on each tuning machine.

If that's the case you've got problems with the nut.
