Bass Setup/Repair in Chicago

Hey,
Hope this is the right forum. For all you Chicagoans where do you take your basses when work needs to be done of them that you can't do? I just moved here and need a shop I can trust. I can make basic adjustments but I really need a professional to take a look at my neck right now. Its having some serious issues.

Can't help you for the NW burbs but if you're near the SW burbs (Palos Hills) there's a great little hole in the wall type of shop called Hidden Music at 103rd and Roberts Rd. about 5 minutes from the 95 st. exit off 294. I've been going there for over 15 years and I have to drive 35 minutes to get there now but it's worth it. John the shop owner does great work and he can do a lot of stuff while you wait which is a big plus for me. Plus he's very reasonable. I've had him do setups for $15-$20 when I supplied the strings while I waited. He has a decent amount of parts on site but can always order stuff. I just had the nut replaced on one of my Bongos and he did a great job resizing and cutting a nice graphite nut to fit.

Only real downside is he has fairly limited hours and tends to get crowded on Saturdays which is his only weekend day.

Thanks Bunkaroo for the reply. Yes, that is a little out of the way for me. That price sounds cheap to me. Is that the going rate for a set-up?
