Can anyone recommend a shop that does setup and/or repair of basses in the Los Angeles/Long Beach area?

+1 for sure. BOTH of these shops are great.

and also S.I.S. (string instrument services). i think they're listed. it's two people, and the do some fantastic work.

I have been using John Carrruthers in Venice for years and years. It's the kind of shop you walk in and see Reggie Hamilition or other heavies getting work done.

Tina out at The Amp Shop/Bass Exchange comes highly suggested. I haven't used he myself, but plan on trying her out. Michael Tobia remmend her to me for my MTD work in L.A.
