Battery compartment door...

Anyone know where I can find one like is found on the back of recent generation EBMM/SBMM basses (tool-free access)?? I want the door and the frame, to hopefully do a Dremel mod on the rear end of a G&L electronics cavity cover. Everything that I find has a whole battery compartment. I just want the door assembly. It can't be THAT difficult...can it?

I've never seen just the hinge-out doors - they are designed to work with their specific compartment. Maybe buy a whole compartment from Warmoth or Stew-Mac and hack it up?

I was afraid of that, but had been left with the impression that it was my only likely option.

the whole plastic assembly is only like $15 from allparts.

anyway, i hate those things! they fail way too easily, as in the plastic breaking mechanically, from the wires breaking because of the movement, or from the copper contacts getting bent.

if i had an active bass with a battery compartment, it would be old music man style, a metal cover plate that was held on with two machine screws going into threaded brass inserts.
