Get a tiny screw driver and tilt it in the hole.

Or just shake your bass upside down

Those silver things are screws, they, well, unscrew ...

Unless they are stripped, then you need a drill.

That's more complicated.

Ive had the screws out for 2 months hoping that the cover would just fall off. Ive tried using a needle, and other smalls things to pop it off. I did try shaking the bass the other night too.

Have you ever had it off before? If not, I'd guess that the finish wasn't completely set up when that cover was first put on. Like megadan said, find a small screwdriver that will fit in that hole and use it to pry the cover off. You can probably use more force than you think without hurting anything.

If that doesn't work, I'd try heating the whole area with a hair dryer - that might soften things up enough to get it loose.

Duct Tape. Apply to plastic cover, pull. If you use enough to make a nice little loop, you have a handy handle to pull from.

This is the "duh" answer. Once you try it you will say "Duh, why didn't I think of this?"

OK, the let's try a stronger adhesive. Consider 3M "command" adhesives, like cord control or picture hangers (home depot/lowes/walmart/kmart, etc.). They stick like crazy, but stretch the tab, and they release cleanly. It'll cost you a buck or two, but if you dress the cover slightly before putting it back on, you won't have the problem next time.

Good luck.

I just found some super heavy duty duct tape and tried 3 or 4 times and it FINALLY came off. Sanded down the edges of the cover and now it comes off just fine.

Use a suction cup. They come in various sizes. It can be attached to a small dowel rod to make a permanent tool.

If the suction cup doesn't work, try finding a dental tool with a hook on the end. It can be looped through the hole and used to pull the cover off.

Um, maybe you should read the post above yours. She said she got it off already.

Duct tape rules.

That is all.

It's still excellent advice, and well worth having in the thread for future search reference.
