Bent neck

Sign in to disble this ad
hey all, i have a squier p-bass and it apears as if the strings are pulling the neck upward causing the action to be extremly high. this is making the bass horribly out of tune at the upper frets. I think this may be a truss rod problem? can i adjust it my self(alen wrench?)? or should i go to a pro? if this helps i measured the action at the 12th fret to be ~1/4" Thank you for your time

1/4 to 1/2 turn per day.

You can do it - we can help.

ok thanks, so 1/4 turn a day with the allen wrench, got it. Will i have to make action adjustments once it's straight again? also, after i realized how bent my first bass was i looked at my new one and it seems to have an ever so slight bend in the same direction as the squier. is a little bend normal? if so twards or away from the strings? thanks alot for ur input!

Yeah, a little bend is ok as long as you're not getting fret buzz and it's not messing with your playing.
