(Besides Warmoth) does anyone make a bound/blocked j neck in short or medium scale?

Trying to peice together a quality short scale bass.
then again, a guitar tech friend will do the job,the setup, fretworf etc
I'm just hunting down parts..deciding what I want.

I've looked into various bodies, parts etc..
USACG and All Parts doesn't have short scale on their site..
but I havn't contacted either one and asked..
does anyone know offhand?

also, would it pay to just buy an SX short scale neck, remove the logo, change the tuners, work on the frets..

Well, if you don't want to use Warmoth, yeah, SX would be a good way to go. It will take a bit of extra work to get it all stripped and worked into something resembling an unfinished bass, though. After finishing and setup it should play pretty nicely.

basses for newbies (SX batch build thread)

Look at that thread and see if that might be an option for you.

Warmoth is still expensive. If you have a friend who can do a good setup and fretjob, SX will do just fine at a fraction of the cost.
