Best Bang For The Buck Tuners

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi All,

I've tried a bunch of different tuning keys out (Hipshot, Schaller, Spertzel...) and I love my Hipshot Ultralites, but I'm curious what tuners you guys and gals like best from a cost perspective (i.e. which tuners give you the most bang for the buck?). I have done a search but I haven't seen this topic discussed like this.

I'm thinking tuners for a Fender-style headstock, but all tuner types are fair game for this discussion.

I personally like Gotoh tuning machines. I'm not sure about the price listing on them off hand, but from my experiences, they never fall out of tune and are good quality.

Hipshot Ultralites. I didn't say they were cheap but they are worth every penny in terms of performance, consistency, and company support. The same holds true for their bridges. 9 basses, 9 sets of Ultralites! I do find them occasionally on E-bay from projects that never take shape.
