Best bridge for Squier VM Jazz in YOUR opinion?

Thinking about getting a new bridge, although the stock one is OK.

Looking for more sustain, and something that will require no routing, or drilling. Just unscrew the old one and screw on the new one.

Is the Badass II my best option? Isn't there a Badass III?

Also, the cheaper, the better (Still, Quality > Price).

Opinions/Thoughts?

Also, I'm lefty, so a bridge that doesn't need any extra adjustments would be great.

Looking for more sustain

Convert the neck attachment to machine screws & threaded inserts. This will get you closer to where you want to be than a bridge replacement.

Look at the Babicz Full Contact Hardware. I think that's what I'm going to go with. I don't believe the BAIII is a direct replacement for Squiers. There's also Hipshot.

IMO, the stock one on there already is perfect. All the rest is snake oil IMO.

Yes, yes it is.

I installed a Babicz (direct replacement on my VM Jaguar) and the only thing that changed was the appearance.

Well, since Walter hasn't showed up yet, the VMJ bridge isn't perfect; swap the saddles for threaded original and THEN it's perfect. $17 + shipping. That ain't snake oil.

For me the Babicz is more about its ability to lock and its aesthetic value than about sustain or tone.

Indeed, I had forgot about the threaded saddles. It's something I've been considereing myself, but only for aesthetic reasons, not because it will improve anything, functionaly speaking. The stock bridge is "mostly" perfect, in that it works exactly as it should.

Fender high-Mass Vintage
Hipshot Vintage Bent Plate, replacement saddles (threaded)
Schaller Roller Bridge

Which of these wouldn't work?

They all work as long as the string spacing and screw pattern are the same.

Clinton: the threaded saddles will allow you to perfectly align the ostrich with the poles on a jazz. You will find the e and g strings will be angled from the saddle to the tail stop causing the string tension to force the two outer saddles inward against the two middle saddles. This will lock all four in and saddles won't budge. The stock bridge can skate around under hard plucking. Not a big deal but a bonus of the threaded saddles.

Yes, I know all this.
This^ in bold is the only reason I'm thinking of getting the threaded saddles, but purely for looks, as I know the misalignment doesn't actually affect anything as far as tone and volume is concerned

Alright, cool.
I'm kinda going for a black(er) color scheme, so a black bridge will really make the bass look better, I think, IMO.

Gotoh 201. The Badass bridges are overpriced IMO, a bridge is a bridge except for mass. I got a black Gotoh for my VM Jag and am very happy.

The Gotoh 201 is a very well-made, good looking bridge. I put one on my MIM Jazz back when I felt that these things would make a difference.

It did - it looks better than the old one! Sound-wise, I didn't notice anything.
