So who makes the highest quality Fender replacement necks? Warmoth (USA), All Parts (Japan), Mighty Mite (not sure where these are made) or ???? Inquiring minds want to know!

I choose Allparts over Warmoth based on a number of comments I have read on here that have said Warmoth necks feel chunkier.

Warmoth would be awesome if they would just stop putting those 50lb metal rods in their necks. I think they're awful simply because they are crazy heavy.

(I also disagree with the supposed chunkiness - mine felt identical to my Am. Std. J, but slightly faster. )

It looks fantastic, in my opinion; exactly what I was after! The neck also feels great. There is some site that sells All Parts stuff for a lot less than if you were to buy directly from their site. I can't remember what it is, unfortunately. They're a great bargain, there's no doubt about that.
I have used one Mighty Mite neck; an unlined fretless. It had a maple neck and an ebanol board. It was quite nice for such a cheap part. It was under $100, if I recall correctly. I wouldn't mind buying another if I wanted something simple (such as all maple or another unlined fretless). I love all of the choices that All Parts and Warmoth offer, though. I'm a big fan of blocks and binding on necks, which Mighty Mite does not offer to my knowledge.
I have no experience with Warmoth necks but they seem like the place to go for exotic neck and fretboard wood configurations.

In general I would say that their stuff is the top end, followed by Warmoth. What I've seen from both of those outfits is consistency. I've had some decent Mity Mite and Allparts and some not so much... nothing I couldn't rescue except for 1 Allparts bound & blocked that was very, very pretty and very, very heavy ... the USACG and Warmoth stuff doesn't ever need rescuing IME. More of an upgrade than a replacement...
Maybe another way of putting it is that I see the Allparts & Mity Mite stuff about on part with early Fender Highway 1 (pre-graphite) and Fender MIM. There is some variability there. If you get a good one, it's good period though.
Nice looking job on that P with J neck!

Warmouth makes a great product. A bass player at my church has a custom with a warmouth neck and its a righteous playing ax | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
