Best multi-purpose guitar tool

I have been looking for an all-in-one bass tool to keep in my gigbag. I have seen the Roadie Rench, the Farley's Tool, the Guitar Gizmo (with builtin flashlight ) and one or two others. Right now I am leaning towards the Farley - any recommendations?

The only one I've ever owned is the "guitool" and it hasn't let me down, though the tool for crimping extra string length has never worked.

I carry a Leatherman in my case. Not necesarily a bass tool, but it has been used at gigs a number of times for a number of emergencies.

I carry a near-complete tool kit with decent quality hex keys, screwdrivers, files, needlenose pliers, diagonals, glue, toothpicks, etc. These numbnuts in the band are always breaking something. Oh...and I'm the guy who always seems to have a pen!

I kid, I KID!

Having a small kit is your best bet. Compact allens, compact driver bits and folding pliers with a wire cutter ought to get you through most things and it will fit in a zipper pouch about the size of your hand.

Any integrated tool for a bass player should have a drum key on it.

I carry a bunch of tools with me in a small divided compartment thingy. It works great. I have yet to find an all in one tool that works for everything that comes up.

SOP.

All in one tools do some things sort of o.k. and others not at all. They do very little well. Having one in the guitar case is good in a pinch but a small box or pouch of dedicated tools is a far better investment. You will be happier with real tools in your hands, too. Pens, pencils, flashlights, ground lifts, and most importantly a drum key should be included in the kit.

While on the subject, another bag or box should be prepared with extra cables, batteries, a strap, and other small stage and recording items. Two is one and one is none. Remember to get the patch cables back from the guitar player after the job.

I just had a look at what this Farley tool is exactly.

Seems to me you would probably already own hex wrenches and screwdrivers. Wouldn't it be much easier to just carry that in your gigbag? You can get all the tools on this thing for a few bucks only at the hardware store. Why pay $30 or more plus shipping for this thing. Surely not for the bridge pin puller?
