I have never had a problem with dunlops, they seem to be the most common. The only other ones I have personal use with are Dingwall strap locks though.

I have also never spun my bass around my back so I won't verify they can handle it but I bet they would be fine.

I prefer the Dunlops...

Others prefer the Schallers

Some like the beer strap locks

While some go the other cheap route...

The issue I find with the schallers is that the screws spin loose over time.
My MIM Jazz has started doing this.
The bolts on the strap can also work themselves loose over time.

I'm interested in trying the dunlops, seeing as they can be installed as flush-mounts, too.

I like these because they keep the strap close to the wood, minimizing the leverage that causes screws to destroy their holes.

I've used Dunlops for years. Never had any problems.

In all honesty, the best strap lock is the one that keeps your bass from crashing to the stage when you're playing a gig.

Schallers for 25 years and no problems. Couldn't say that with Dunlop. Just make sure the Schaller "U" is solid side down, so it holds even if the lock fails. Surprised that I would have to mention that, but common sense is a diminishing resource.

Used both Dunlop and Schaller, prefer the Dunlops but they both work equally fine. Really preference. I like the button-release of the Dunlops since that's what I've primarily been using the last 13 and some-odd years.

I've had Schallers wear out over time with the post actually wearing down where it wouldn't lock anymore. I've use Dunlops now for 5 years with no issues.

I've used Schaller and Dunlop, currently using the Loxx system on my new bass and loving them.
