Hi! I'm a bass player!
I know what doublebass players like to adjust a high action on the bass guitar to feel
more tention, due to their habitude to hit the strings very hard as compared to bass
guitar players. As I heard funny story, one bass player couldn't play even one note
on John Patitucci's bass, because it was set with very high action.
Also it helps in the studio to get more precise sound.
Another reason - it's good for techique practice. You can make muscles work harder and
after playing on the bass with usual action, feel very nimble.
So my question is - what I have to adjust, truss rod to get the neck be more curved,
or set saddles on the bridge higher, or both? As I feel, with curved neck it is easer to make strins be more
tight. Is it harmful for the neck,
when I adjusit it very curved? |
