I broke a string and now the peg is loose. I tightened everything on it that could be tightened but it is still loose. Is this ok or should i get a new one?

it should be ok, if you ever practice without an amp it may give you an annoying rattle.

What's loose? The whole thing, the shaft the string wraps around or the "knob" you turn to tune? The shaft often wiggles a little when there's no tension (i.e. a tuned up string) on it and that's no problem, but anything that suddenly occurred bears looking at. Have you put a new string on?

Put on a new string on and see if it tightens back up. I think it should.

the knob you turn? like the clover looking part, right?

I have that on my old starter, it means the tuner has seen better days, or could have been made a little better, but it by no means is going to fly off and nail some poor soul in the face during your groovy jams.

A handful of tuners can be tightened via various means. Do you have a detailed pic of the headstock backside?
