I was wondering if it were possible to put black binding on a neck that isnt bound....

Also, how much would that cost? (Gimme a ballpark)

Anything's possible. Price? Probably a couple or few hundred, unless you don't mind if it's just glued to the side of the fretboard as is.

Possible? Yes. Expensive? You bet!

Here is the reason why:

It is not just a binding job. It is also a refret. The frets on an unbound neck extend to the edges of the fingerboard. The binding sets on a shelf routed into the side of the neck. Currently that space is covered by the frets. So the frets must be removed before the channel can be routed. If the neck is a bolt on the job is a bit easier. If it is a set neck or neck through it will be more time consuming which always means more expensive. Single layer binding will be less expensive than multi layer binding schemes.

Ballpark? Fenway, Wrigley, Forbes. Take your pick.
