Hi there.
I was just thinking about some stuff that I could do to my Squier VM Jazz bass and I thought all black hardware would look kind of cool.
Basically, I think I can do it for about $80 or so.
I just wanted to see some opinions on this before I commit to it.
I'm talking black tuners, string guide, bridge, control plate, regular jazz knobs and screws...maybe even some DR Black Beauties.
Thanks for any input...
Really rough, crappy Photoshop job for black hardware:
Normal chrome stuff:

| | | | I only get chrome harware these days. Gold and black wear off easily and look like crap in a relatively short period of time. Chrome looks good for a very long time

I say go black. I have a bass modding addiction though.

Cool knobs. I'll get the same eventually.

(pics could be better but i guess they'll serve)
Tuners are still stock chrome, don't want to cheap out on them so it's lower priority.
Bridge (Wilkinson), control plate, knobs cost maybe $40 altogether, from an EBay merchant in Edmonton.
Other mods: Model Js, 500K push-pull pots, series-parallel circuit, La Bella flats.
Need to fix that misfit at the pickguard, also maybe put some black nail polish on the chrome screws. |

to the point where I think there's not enough, but I think black would be ok

Had to lean back a squint at the pic.
