| | Black Fender Jazz Bass Nut
I purchased a GraphTech Black Tusq XL Fender J-Bass 4-string slotted nut (PT-1214-00), but the string slots were way too wide for the neck. The E and G strings would be at the edges of the fretboard. They do state that their nuts are made slightly wide and need to be sanded down on the edges, but the string spacing makes the nut unsuitable for Jazz basses.
I did find a black graphite slotted nut for Jazz basses on GuitarPartsResource.com (measures 1-1/2" x 1/8" x 7/32" tall, with a 1-1/8" string spacing, flat bottom). Not sure if it will be a good fit or if graphite is a desirable nut material.
I'm looking for a black, 4-string Fender Jazz bass nut with standard string spacing. The nut material doesn't matter too much as long as it is tonally transparent or a pleasant upgrade. Any recommendations?
That's one of the least fun facts I've ever heard.
