supposedly a brass plate cut to match the profile of the headstock and bolted on the back with the tuning machines helps sustain and tuning, has anyone done this? |

I'm not sure about the Fat Head. Their site says:
These are now sold by ZZRyder. http://www.zzryder.com to head directly to their website for more information.
but when you go to zzryder site there is nothing there about the Fat head. I'm assuming that they're using them on their guitars only at the moment. Beats me.

I've had a (1 mm thick) shaped plate of stainless steel on the back of my P headstock these 15 years, and it works excellently well. It stiffens the wood so it doesn't micro-flop about so much, which translates into more focused tone and greater tuning stability. At least that´s been my experience.

I want to though, one day.
