... or should I say, 'breathe new life into my bass'.
This could have gone in the pickups and electronics forum, but i thought it was more fitting here. Feel free to move mr. mods.
I play an MIA Jazz, and although its been a great workhorse for me, I have really bad GAS for a new playing experience. However, my current financial situation means I really can't afford to buy a new bass, so I want to work on my current to make it feel, play and sound like a new (and improved) instrument.
I was contemplating buying some Nordstrand NJ4 pickups for it. I've been looking at Fralin's also, but from what I've heard (which is sound clips only sadly) the Nordstrands seem more appealing.
I was also planning on upgrading the bridge. A couple of years of touring has resulted in a 'wearing' bridge. The first saddle has been left unadjustable due to dirt - skin (disgusting i know) - getting in the top of the allen screws and corroding it, so instead of replacing the saddle, i thought, why not just change the whole thing? Badass II is the obvious suggestion, but does anyone have any other recommendations? Has to be chrome, and 4 string... thats the only real requirements really.
Other than that, I'll just be changing the rusty pickguard screws and so on to make it sparkle again (and of course, they will be the elusive 'tone screws' to make it sound better

)
Anything else anyone would suggest? Hopefully, I will get that sparkle in our relationship back.
