Thanks but I don't think it would fit. the mounting hole spacing on my bass looks further apart.

5 string? Get a 4 or 5 hole bridge then, 3 isnt enough imo. Fill the middle hole on your bass if it doesnt line up with 3 of the 5 holes and drill starter holes for the other two. Install birdge and is done. Either gotoh 201 or hipshot would be good choice for bridge. I hate those 3 hole bridges, not enough support for the bridge esp if body wood isnt hardwood. Imo

At this point I don't mind drilling new holes as long as the string thru holes will line up. Yes 5-string

OK, what am i missing?

that looks like a regular 4-string body with holes for the 5 screws of a regular fender 4-string bridge.

You could drill (or have someone drill) appropriate holes for whatever bridge you want to install.

That looks like my only option. the fender deluxe V bridges looks like it might line up with the string thru holes. I would then have to drill the mounting holes in between the string holes. so i would end up with a total of nine holes in a row! hmmm

those 5 holes actually emerge out the back? because they look to be no larger than screw holes in that picture.

Warmoth drilled for a Hipshot A style. I was thinking that I could make this fender bridge work by drilling 4 holes between the existing 5.

OK, you've convinced me it's really a 5-string

i say the mounting holes are trivial, it's the string holes themselves that have to be exactly right.
