I'm working on setting my basses up to play identical. Action is the same, neck relief is the same, but the string height from string to body varies from bass to bass. My favorite player is a Fender Dimension. It has a nice gap between body and strings - about .58". I like the bigger gap. I tend to wedge my thumb under the E when playing extensively in the upper register. So, I've decided to use the Dimension as a guide. First up, first issue. Decided to do my P Elite. Tilted the neck back and had to move the saddles all the way up. Still nowhere near high enough. I'm thinking about putting a block under the bridge to bring it up 1/4-3/8". Would need longer bridge screws and a longer ground. Seems easy enough.
