bridge-buzz problem...

Sign in to disble this ad
Well, I'm sure everyone's heard of fret buzz. Fret-buzz is when a fretted note buzzes when played. Anyway, when I pluck my open G, the bass buzzes hear the bridge. When I put a finger on the bridge, and pluck my open G again, the buzz stops. Does anyone know how to fix this?
(I tried re-stringing the bass, and the problem goes away, and comes back after rougly 2 hours of playing.)

Sounds like there is a screw or something that is loose. Check it out.

I think I have the same thing going on with my E string, although I haven't tried restringing it.

It sounds almost like a hiss.

could be the springs that keep pressure on the saddles buzzing? I've hear that before..

Wink

This is a common thing and its something that requires experience to fix because it isn't always one thing. The springs can whistle especially at the G-string because that spring is not compressed like the others. If this happens at the E string, its another common problem because of the barrel saddle slots. The front side is vibrating in the barrel slot because there isn't enough clearance. Get to a repairman, guessing is frustrating. And yes...it could be other things, but this can be fixed.
