Bridge Covers

What do you guys think of bridge covers (on older jazz and p basses) do you think i should keep it on or off...and who thinks they are ugly....

Thread's been done many times, but the general consensus was it's a matter of opinion. I have a bass with a pickup cover, one with a bridge cover and one with none. They perform no electronic duty, so it's a matter of feel and/or looks. I think they look great on, but usually get in my way while playing.
