bridge pup route on '76 Jazz bass

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey so i just bought a 76 J-bass and was told it is all original. the route around the the bridge Pup is a little wider than the pup. Were the routes on these originally a little bigger than the pickup? or has this been routed out for another pickup at some point?
thanks

thats not original...

Somebody might know some deep fender history I'm not aware of , but that in my opinion is not original.
