Bridge Replacement?? Ibanez SR500 w/ Badass II

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi everyone,

I'm looking for folks who might have ever replaced a bridge on an Ibanez SDGR / GSR / GIO, with a high-mass bridge.

I've got a newly acquired SR500NT (circa 1993), in fantastic condition. Active pups, plays like butter. The bridge is less than perfect, and could be better.

I've never seen an Ibanez SDGR with a Badass II, but am seriously considering doing it. I replaced an old Jackson JS40 stock bridge with a Badass II several years ago, but sold it, just now getting back into playing, and am curious if anyone's done it.

S5002479

Thanks for looking!

It's not high mass. The footprint of the current stock bridge is pretty thin, compared to a Badass II.

But they're pretty thick compared to a Fender bent plate bridge.

I used to have an SR-800 and thought the bridge was pretty beefy.
