Bridge replacement for squier jazz deluxe V ??

Sign in to disble this ad
So i bought a squier jazz bass deluxe V, i am very happy with it and i am changing all the hardware, nothing wrong with it, i just want all the hardware black, so i bought a black Schaller roller bridge but the spacing on the schaller is way smaller than the spacing on the squier... so i wasted my money on a nice bridge i cant use..
So my question is, wich bridge would you recomend for my squier, i dont really want the typical bent plate style, i want something with some mass, i dont really care about weight, it just need to be black and Cheap

here is the link to my bass

Thanks

That's odd. I'd think with the rollers you could space them out pretty darn far. You tried to move the rollers all the way out?

yes i tried, but the spacing is not wide enough, plus the bridge is smaller and i cant cover the 2 holes on the front of the bridge, the badass may be fine, but they are hard to fine in black slotted, and the only ones i found are way too expensive

Too bad about the bridge - if you'd been in the UK I might've bought it from you.

If I remember the max. you can get out of that bridge is about 17.5mm and you want 19mm.

try a search both in this Forum & the Luthier's Corner Forum - you might turn up something there - also Schaller has a bridge of a completely different design, not roller, you might like to try & find - the place you bought the roller from might consider a swap or minimal adjustment if you go back to them & explain(???)

Good luck with it.
