Bridge saddle question..

Sign in to disble this ad
I've got a Modulus Q6 and lately I've been needing to raise the bridge saddles to get any sound out of the first couple frets.

I've not changed strings in a long time so I'm not sure if doing that will help any. Basically though I've been playing it and it's been fine for a while. Then two or three months ago I noticed I was getting really dead sound out of the first couple frets. Pretty much everything above fret 3 was fine..but frets one and two were getting just a dead sound with no sustain. I raised the bridge saddles up a little bit and that solved the problem.

Now it's happened again. I was gigging the other night and noticed it. Between sets I raised the saddles and again this solved the problem. The issue is now I can't raise them anymore. I"m not sure why this is happening...or what adjustment I can make to possibly prevent it. I'm hoping a simple string change will cure it but I figured I'd check on here first to see if anybody has any input.

Your neck is most likely "relaxing" with the change of season. take a look at how much relief you have. My guess is you may have to loosen the truss rod a bit....

Even on a Modulus? I thought the carbon graphite necks weren't supposed to be affected by that. Thanks though..I'll have a look at it.
