Bridge saddles buzzing?

Sign in to disble this ad
Ok, I changed my strings the other day on my Skyline JO5 and everything is fine except I have ridiculous buzzing on my G string saddle and a little on my E string when I play them.

I haven't had time to do a full setup yet but am planning to in the next couple weeks. I have however tried repositioning the string in the saddle and moving the saddle laterally but it doesn't seem to fix it. Any tips?

My Marcus miller bass did that on the G as well....I just took a small allen wrench and ran the screws in just a tad bit to make it tighter....Almost like raising the action, just don't go too far

That is the most common solution to that symptom. The saddles are actually "floating" rather than having a nice, tight tension bond to the bridge plate. If you have the saddle really low along with it fairly far forward, it is hard to get a strong break angle over the saddle and thus there is an absence of downward pressure on the saddle.

Ok. Thanks guys, yeah its pretty far forward at the moment I plan to give it a proper setup in the next few days hopefully it will be the last of the buzz.
