Bronco Bass Pickguard

Sign in to disble this ad
Ok, so I picked up a Bronco Bass on ebay. I plan to make a custom pickguard for it. I have done this before so no fear! I just need to know how long the stock pickguard is so that I buy the correct size blank. I won't have the bass in hand for over a week and I want to get material ordered.
If anyone has a bronco bass, can you please measure the length of the pickguard from the tip on the top horn, down to the bottom point. I am hoping that it will fit on a 10"x12" blank.

If you mean "bottom point" as the point near where the jack mounts, you're outta luck. The measurement is 14.375". I would not use a blank that measures less than 10" x 14". The stock pickguard will fit in that rectangle.

Thank you, that is good info. I am torn right now. Thinking about material. The bass is Red, so I am debating using either Black/White/Black 3 ply, Black/Red/Black 3 ply or Black Pearl...Hmm

Also, if we go in what I am thinking is the measurement you gave, that would be a diagonal length of the pick guard. Which could work on a 10x12 since the diagonal length of a 10x12 is about 15.5"

You, sir, are correct. You could do what you propose, though you would have zero margin for error.

Given your color choices, I'd use black/red/black.
