BTB 305FM troubles

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello!

first off, great forums, first time poster. The forums look great and if someone could help me out, i would be sure to visit often.

http://ibanez.com/BassGuitars/model-BTB305FM

I have a couple problems actually, my main problem is that the metal part that holds my 5th string(on the neck of the guitar) has completely been stripped off when i was trying to replace strings. I don't know it must be cheap metal or something. Where would i go to replace this?

second, the 4th and 5th string are very buzzy when i play, how should i go about lifting the strings, or tightening the strings or something, so that it isn't so loose?

i love playing bass guitar, but I'm simply just not at the stage of bass playing to know all this maintenance stuff. So thats why i come to you guys for help, Thanks in advance!

Hi Ben, Welcome to TB!

Your local Ibanez dealer can take on repairs or at least refer it to the distributor's service centre for any repair work/ parts.

they will also be able to set up your BTB which will get rid of buzzing and make sure the bass is in fit playing condition.

did you buy the bass from a Ibanez store? if so then start with them.

i bought it from guitar center like a year ago, so i think the void is gone, so i guess i can just go back to GC, and see what they can do?
