buliding a fretless neck

hi
i have a MIM 60s fender j bass
i am thinking about replacing a new fretless neck.

what is the best fingerboard wood? rosewood or pau ferro or
ebony?
and also are there any significant of using indian rosewood as neck wood?

Ebony is the hardest of the three choices for fingerboard wood. It will wear longer.

A rosewood neck will be heavy. It will tend to throw off the balance of the instrument. It will be felt the most with a light weight body.
