Bushings for Converting Tuning Gears?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm wondering if there's any sort of tuner bushing that you can use to install Gotoh style Y-tuners on a Fender headstock. I believe Gotoh's are 3/8" and Fender style are usually 1/2". Do such things exist, or am I nuts?

I haven't seen it. Have you considered plugging the holes and re-drilling?

IIRC the Gotoh bushings' outer diameter is 1/2" so they would fall through the holes.

I used some flexible clear plastic tubing from the hardware store for that purpose (like the stuff used for fish tanks, etc). They sell it by the foot. Take in your tuning peg and try out the different sizes. You can make the diameter of the tubing smaller by slicing it lengthwise and removing some of it so it fits snug in the tuning peg hole.
