Button Extender?

Sign in to disble this ad
Maybe YOU guys know. I'm tired of searching.

Last year, one of my TB brothers here sent me a "button extender" for my Tele Bass - it's just too small of a body for me, and my strap was choking me, and I couldn't take it anymore. The Extender works PERFECTLY. It's basically a 2" brass tube with a long screw to reach the body, and an end that would accept a strap. It attaches where the "upper horn" would be on a Tele if it had one, and sticks out as far as a Jazz bass horn.

I'm sure I could make one of these, but it wouldn't be as sturdy, as I'm not handy in the least...

Can any of you point me to a product that does this, that is available today? I need a few more. Thanks in advance.

I bought the same thing and couldn't find the manufacturer about a year later. I think it was British but am not sure. Sorry to be of absolutely no help!

Another idea is to build it into the neck plate like so:

Yep - and what's on the Ric two posts above is EXACTLY what I'm looking for. Now I need a source...

Good luck and let me know if you find it again. I've look several times since I bought that one and have never been able to locate the seller again.

I had a wooden one custom made for me by a TB'er:

Anyone here with a lathe care to make a small item for me?
