Buzzing Bridge

Sign in to disble this ad
I lowered my action on my Ibanez GSR190 a couple of days ago, and now I'm getting a horrible buzzing from the bridge.

The only other changes I amde were setting the intonation. No truss rod adjustments were made. Bass is completely stock, apart from earnie balls strings, but they've been on the bass for a few months now with no problems.

It isn;t very loud from my normal fingerstyle playing, but when i use a pic, I just get a horribley buzzy note.

Thx in advance for any help.

Not sure wether it's coming from the strings or the bridge. But either way, the buzzing seems to be coming from the saddle area.

Yeah I;ve got springs on my intonation screws, but there touching both both the back of the saddle, and the end of the bridge comfortably.

Just plucked the strings quite agressively, and the buzz seems to have quietened down on the D and G strings, but the A and E are still buzzing very loudly.

Check the little intonation screws as well, theres normaly two per saddle and if one of them is not touching the bridge plate with enough pressure it can cause buzz.

Yup I've checked the screws, there all right up against the bridge. COuld it be the saddles vibrating against each other?

They can still rattle along the sides. I used to take a small piece of felt and put it between the string and the spring to mute the rattle.
