Angry buzzing on my fender bridge, someone help! please

Sign in to disble this ad
the spring on the G string section of my bass on my precision is considerbley looser than the other ones. it does not effect me playing and does not make any sound when i play finger style but when i slay i can hear the bus of it caused by vibrations...this only accoustically mind you but it's still annoying as it's too late to plug in! can someone tell me how to stop the spring from rattling, how do you tighten it? thanks.

Mine was doing the same thing so I put a small piece of foam froma Nerf(tm) dart underneath it... no more buzz.

For a cleaner fix you could also stretch the spring out a little so it is tighter or use some silicone putty to dampen it a-la the foam trick.
