buzzing on my fretless jazz

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello all. My Squier VM fretless jazz has developed a bit of a buzz lately, especially on the E string. It's worse on the first few postions, where it basically chokes out the notes completely. I've noticed lately that this buzz seems to be appearing in the other strings around the first few positions, and it's getting worse.

Is this caused by my neck being convex? And can a simple home-adjustment of the truss rod raise the action up and make this bass playable again?

there was a post here somewhere that explains that, I think. . . . it seems that if you get buzzing in the upper frets, the neck is too straight (not enough relief) and if the buzz is in the lower positions there is too much relief. you could try to loosen the truss by about 1/4 turn and see if it helps.
