Buzzing nut

So I've got some mean buzz on my A string. It's not fret buzz, the nut has been worn away so badly, that the string is clanking around inside the little groove it rests in.

How should I go about fixing this? Should I take it to the shop?

For a temporary fix you can put a tiny piece of paper inside the nut slot. Otherwise , probably just buy a new nut.

An easy fix to a worn nut is to fill it in with super glue. It works great I just did my self on a jazz bass.

I probably should just buy a new nut, mine's a crappy plastic one. And the plastic's pretty soft.
