Buzzing problem

Sign in to disble this ad
Yesterday, I received my Squier SQ series precision bass that I purchased via eBay. I tried it out on my mini-rig, and I was blown away! Frankly, I was a bit skeptical about getting a Squier even though it was MIJ, but mine is definitely a keeper.

One thing that bothered me a bit was that when I was playing the A string on the 14th fret, I heard some buzzing noises. I played the same string on the 15th fret, and there was some buzzing but not as bad as 14th. I checked other strings and frets to see if there were any other buzzing problems, but A string on the 14th fret was the only spot.

Does this mean that my bass needs a set-up? Maybe adjust the truss rod a bit?

More than likely, your problem is a high fret.
