C string problem!

Sign in to disble this ad
So, on my six string fretless, there seems to be a bit of a problem with the C string. It always plays one semitone above where it's supposed to. I intonated it on the 12th fret marker, but whenever I play, say, a perfect fourth interval between the G and C, it sounds as a major third, and if I play a perfect fifth, it sounds like a tritone, etc. This is only with the C string. All of the other strings are perfectly fine. Any ideas?

So it sounds a halfstep lower. Now, strings being intonated properly does not mean their in tune with each other, check that out, recheck your tuning. New strings.

Thanks for the reply!

I checked the tuning. Open C plays the same as G string 5th fret. These are new strings lol.

Ah man, why didn't I think of that? Of course, since it's my first time play fretless, my intonation is gonna be off. Thanks!

Problem fixed.
